Further Information:
This coffee comes from a special area called Guji in the Oromia province, known for its rich volcanic soil, high altitudes, and dense, biodiverse forests.
Getachew Zekele, a native of Guji, founded the Dimtu Tero Farm in 2016. The 151-hectare farm is nestled in the Guji forests, where coffee trees coexist with biodiverse vegetation. Getachew is committed to producing the highest quality beans by prioritizing the upkeep of the area's natural biodiversity and providing sustainable working conditions for the 416 smallholder farmers who work for the Dimtu Tero Farm.
These out-growers send their harvests to Getachew's washing station and drying mill for processing. He pays livable wages and treats them as partners in his business. His farm has multiple sustainability and environmental certifications, including the Rainforest Alliance Certification.
Getachew's rigorous processing techniques and commitment to traceability means all the beans he produces at the Dimtu Tero Farm are divided into specific varieties-- a rarity for Ethiopian coffee.
This specific varietal has a subtle acidity reminiscent of Meyer lemon. This is balanced by floral notes and refined chocolate sweetness, resulting in a cup with an exciting fusion of subtle acidity and a long finish.
