More Information: The farm was founded by the visionary members of the Comacho family, who in the early 1930s, purchased farmland that was the home of the El Cipres tree, hence the name of the estate. The natural landscape of the farm served the perfect conditions of rich volcanic soil, optimal sunshine and rainfall, as well as high altitudes needed for the cultivation of coffee.
When Don and Adelina Camacho first took possession of the farm, they raised cattle and began planting coffee trees. In those days, the time, effort, and energy it took to create a viable coffee farm was immense. Decades have now passed, and after dividing the farm in the 1970s, Adelina gave some of the lots to her son, Jesus, who has been running it ever since. At first, the farm continued to be run just like his mother had taught him. Then, at the turn of the millennium, more modern sustainable farming practices were introduced.
The management system currently implemented by Jesus protects the environment, allowing for a variety of flora and fauna to grow, giving both food and shelter to a wide variety of native birds, while also enhancing the quality of the coffee.
