This coffee comes from a group of over 1300 families of small organic coffee producers from 60 communities in the southern state of Chiapas. Grown near the mountainous region of the Sierra Madre bordering Guatemala, this coffee is grown at over 1300 meters. The varietals are Red and Yellow Catuai and are washed and sundried on cement patios. This union of coffee producers was formed in 2012 to help in social, economic and environmental aspects of the communities. The farmers use organic fertilizers that they produce themselves and participate in many social projects positively impacting everyone directly.
The coffee is light bodied balanced with notes of milk chocolate.
